The installation of drain sleeves used to be slightly restricted as structural soft felt liners could only be installed in straight sections of pipework and structural patch liners could not be positioned beyond bends however with the development of super-flex liners, Brawoliners and Picote Cannon liners, all of which we can install, there are not many instances where sleeving is not possible. They can now also be inserted into a run which has branch or lateral connections as with our Dancutter lateral cutting machinery, we can cut into the sleeve and reopen the junction, leaving the connecting pipework fully operational.
Not only can these repairs be carried out to the underground drainage system, we can also install liners into the internal vertical pipework running from the roof if safe and flat access is available, which saves knocking holes into walls and redecorating afterwards. This is particularly cost efficient in blocks of flats where the downpipes pass through 5 or 10 floors where the pipework would be boxed in, potentially behind tiles, bathroom suites or kitchen units, etc. which would obviously require considerable reinstatement.
Apart from the benefit of minimal disruption as lining removes the need to excavate and replace the pipework, it is far more time efficient and cost-effective than renewal and with its life expectancy exceeding 50 years, it is the obvious choice.
